It never should’ve gone this long unattended. I visited my husband over the weekend and he looked dirty and unshaven and his hair was stand all over his head. This condition would have never if they had been easing his hair and rinsing the soap out. I could add more, but hopefully you get the picture. Baton Rouge was a hospital, but I was there for therapy after surgery. I had a real good experience the first time and then I went back the second time.
Lakewood Quarters Nursing & Rehabilitation Center
My mother-in-law has been there since December. The staff was very good, the facility was very clean and they’re very caring. She eats in her room, but she says that the food is very good. Physical therapy is mainly the shining star for me, it was the most outstanding. She’s improved enough to go home, it’s remarkable how they’ve helped her improve so much. The rooms are better than most Medicaid facilities because they’re semi-private.
So, I called the facility and spoke with their staff. I told them about my concerns and they were very helpful and understanding. They went through their covid policies with us and assured us that she will be taken care of.
Old Jefferson Community Care Center
My family and I have been very satisfied. She seems very content and very happy there. We’re overall very pleased with the facility. She’s on a restricted diet because she has a swallowing difficulty, but I think with the soft food and the thick liquids, that’s been fine. We’re limited because of the COVID, but several years ago we had a family member there, and we were very pleased with the facility. All was very neat and tidy, and with the COVID they’re taking all the precautions they need.
The new staffer was much more attentive and seemed to be very friendly to my grandmother. My grandmother even seemed much more content. The facility is usually clean and the staff friendly. I just wish she had more opportunities to interact with other residents other than meals. My mother is settled and comfortable at The Guest House.
Heritage Manor of Baton Rouge
They have games, church services, and movie nights. They have a rehab exercise center and provide transportation to medical transportation, shopping, or restaurants. They serve three meals a day, but I think the meals could be better. I’ve had some issues with the staff, but they’ve gotten much better. We’re very pleased with Ollie Steele Burden Manor Nursing Facility, the physical therapy especially was excellent.
Everything I’ve seen there has been very nice. For visitations, you can’t really go to the rooms. The outdoor space has a couple of patios.
Each month, they go to a different restaurant. You can go if you want to, and you don’t have to if you don’t want to. I’ve only been on one of the patios in the courtyard. The location is close to the hospital, and it’s not difficult to get to for me. They have 85 beds and a daily average of 52.0 residents . Give more details to improve the helpfulness of your review. It's a crying shame the meals served to these precious residents. Imagine a bowl of oatmeal with egg in the middle. Imagine a cold, hard piece of fried chicken with 1 cold piece of baked chicken and a few carrots.
